Toro Y Moi - Underneath the Pine (2011)

Hopscotch chill-wave. Add this dude to the list of people from South Carolina that doesn't suck.

Reading Rainbow - Prism Eyes (2010)

Another hopscotch band that I am super fraking excited to see, and at the hive none the less. American indie-pop-rock at it's finest.

Beach Fossils - What a Pleasure (2011)

I think I'm going to start posting more Hopscotch bands. Beach Fossils are one of the top bands I want to see this year. Perfect mix of indie rock and shoegaze.

$K$E$H$A$ - IATDC + ICYTD (2011)

Is it ridiculous that I can't find this girl on Spotify without actually typing $.

Metronomy - The English Riviera (2011)

Hot damn I love this band! This new album is so much more refined then "Night's Out." Don't get me wrong, I love that album too as it encompasses a raw electro-indie-i-just-had-my-heart-broken-but-let's-dance-anyway kinda thing. This album takes that, and bakes it to perfection with slightly less teenage angst.

DOM - Sun Bronzed Greek Gods (2011)

AND I'M BACK FROM SUMMER VAY-K!!! Ok, so I definitely still have a note on my desk from 3 weeks ago telling me to check out this DOM character, which i just got around to yesterday.... A MAN WAS I MISSING OUT! In a recent interview Dom declined to share his last name, and blurred the line between fact and fiction so nonchalantly that it became hard to know if anything he said could be believed at all. Supposedly the basis for his anonymity is seeded in the many debts he owes to a wide range of sinister individuals.

Dom makes sunburned guitar pop with fat hooks and stargaze synths that sound triumphant, heartbreaking, and totally immediate.
